You will most likely be replacing that booster soon. The rubber diaphragm in there doesn't do well with brake fluid. It likes to eat the rubber.

Has anyone had this issue covered under warranty? It's looking like my 2020 OR is having this issue and it is just out of warranty.

Alternately, has anyone tackled the replacement themselves?

My 2017 SR5 drips a few drops from the telescoping part of the steering column when it’s like 110 degrees in Texas. Seems to me any slippery substance on the brake pedal is something that should be a recall.

Which rubber diaphragm? I extracted all the brake fluid from the booster with an extractor when I did the master cylinder replacement. I luckily didn’t have any fluid inside my truck or in floor board at all. My master cylinder just kept going empty over night.
Going on two months now and no issue :fingerscrossed:
Btw I have another master cylinder I bought from autozone around the same time I ordered the one off eBay from salvage yard and I never returned it. Still in box brand new

For those of you who have this problem AND are NOT covered by the recall go to:
    www.nhtsa.gov/report-a-safety-problem#index

Fill out a complaint and submit it. This is the first step in getting Toyota to “eventually” fix it or possibly reimburse you in the future.

FYI, 19 PRO here. Had brake fluid dripping on my floor. Dealer replaced hydraulic brake booster under warranty. Over my 3 year 36000 mile warranty but they said some parts have different warranties, up to 5 years.

Mine doesn’t have the advics and that looks like a master cylinder unit to me. Maybe that’s the booster for the offroad though idk

2016 Off Road. 60k. Noticed this same issue today. Tiny amount of brake fluid on weathertec floor mats. Going to report to the above link.

How long has anyone lived with it? Does it get worse over time?

Update: I thought I would try engaging crawl mode as it had been over 2 years since I’d used it. After crawling for a few minutes for three days I haven't seen any more brake fluid on the floorboard this week. I’m guessing there might be a seal or valve that hadn’t been worked in a while. But I honestly don’t know if that is possible.

I also replaced front pads (they were due to be replaced) and flushed the brake fluid.

    Hey everybody,

I have a 2017 TRD OR and I accidentally drop my master cylinder cap in the bay and can’t find it. Does anyone know if this cap 47230-47090 will fit our master cylinder?

I can’t find an exact answer anywhere and a lot of parts sites are telling me it’s 47230-01031 but that’s for MC’s w/o hydro boost (which obviously isn’t ours)
