I've been reading through posts on the JBL system and upgrades folks have done. I don't have an issue with quality or overall volume, I seldom turn vol up too loud otherwise my tinnitus flares up. My only real desire is to get more bass.

From what I understand the factory amp runs 2ohm for all channels, and the sub is a DVC. I have two SVC 4ohm Kenwood KFC-XW800F shallow mount subs from a previous vehicle. My thoughts were to remove the factory sub and box, build a box for the kenwoods and run them in parallel off one of the factory amp sub outputs. Subs need .5cu ft both sealed or ported, and I was already planning to remove the plastic behind the seats for molle so building a box across the bottom is easy enough.

Will the factory amp push the two subs, and will running off only one voice coil output be an issue? And lastly, will this be worthwhile? If this won't be worth it I'll just leave it alone as it's not important enough for me to throw money at it.
