Any chance of an Independence Day DIY tune pack sale to entice some of us OTT-curious folks :) I'm sure I'm not the only one a bit frustrated by unfortunate drama with their current tune.

You and many others unfortunately. I switch so many guys off other tunes that Dont Werx each month. It may be worth sending an email to info@overlandtailor.com and explaining the situation. Can't make any promises though.

Sorry to be checking in here on this thread regarding my curiosity but ….I have been watching the main YW thread and the Former KD thread but now seemingly they have completely vanished ?? I currently am on the “said” above tune and am scheduled for the 2.1 update. Hopefully the tuning community can all just get along : )

Your senior leadership has failed all of you. We asked for a simple tuner list and to put out information to stay out of other tuner threads. We gave 7 days to accomplish this simple task. Next Sunday around this time I'm really hoping a list is in my inbox with a short apology or this will repeat again....just longer.

Since we won't be blown off, all YotaWerx tuning threads will also disappear until these simple tasks are done.

The Staff on TW has heard several times recently that TacomaWorld is not a place of business...just a website. We in fact know a metric buttload of business is conducted on here even without vendor badges (not that Tuners will ever have one anyway). Keep that in mind when popping off.

Now back to the main topic of the thread. If you want to talk about the others, start a thread (that will probably get locked).

I just got mine tuned this weekend with the Mild/Medium combo. WOW!! It's a whole new truck. Thank you OTT.

Hey everyone! Long time lurker, finally decided to join in on the OTT train. I've been researching tunes for the truck, watching videos, scrolling through the forum and I've finally decided to go with OTT. I do have a question though, my truck has 255/85r16 Wildpeak AT4s which weighs considerably more than the stock goodyear kevlars. I was wondering if there's some custom tune file a tuner can flash onto the truck for the heavier tires or if it's mostly just throttle sensitivity? I was thinking of lite/mild but considering mild/medium with the heavier tires.

Experiment with the different throttle options. You'll find one you like.

I would contact your local tuner which cane be found below. Your tires come in at 33.1s. I would recommend starting on Mild/Medium and take it from there. After spending some time with the tune, if you need an adjustment up or down, that can be done so no worries there!

I am unclear about a point here:

Are the various tunes "mild..spicy" only the throttle position and the engine tuning is the same for each throttle?
Or, are the tunings themselves, such as cam timing and transmission shift points unique for each file type?

Nothing changes except the throttle.. Everything else remains the same.

I was able to meet up with Quoc at TK-421-Tuning, & thanks to him am now compliant in my state.
Only had time to test in on the drive home, but felt as smooth as ever. Thanks for offering such a great product!

Quac did mine last night SUPER last minute. I wanted to test it out on another SUPER last minute drive up to Go Fast Camper in Belgrade, MT. HOLY SMOKES. IT’S NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENT. Going up hills beforehand the damn tranny would gear hunt like a mofo. Shifting it’s great and with my medium tune with the ECT button… gave me a stiffie.

Out of curiosity, anyone with this tune have stock gears running 34s or 35s? If so how does it feel? Does it have enough power to push 34s or 35s?

A re-gear would be my priority, as would a tune to enhance performance, flash tune won't replace proper mechanics.

We do a number in this configuration through our retailers. The calibration will 'help', and the corrected transmission tuning will go a long way towards making the vehicle drive better (even with the larger tires), but as @JS11B hinted too, gearing is appropriate for this size tire on these vehicles.

The tune can and often is used as an intermediate step, getting the truck to drive better with the tires while gears are saved up for/installed. If you opt to use the tune as this intermediate 'step' there's no charge to update the tune for the specific gears you choose in the future. So there's not much of a downside to try it now if it's something you were planning on after the gears anyway.

I just want to know if the tune can manange bigger tires. I mean I have the tune with 33s and it is more than enough power to push 33s. Just want others input to see if 35s with tune is still manageable until regear.

So is the carb legal just for 3rd gen tacoma? Or is it for all the vehicle's listed?

Currently just the 2016-2023 3.5L Tacoma, other applications are underway.
