Cut out that outside tube to realign shocks to be more vertical vs tilting inward (this also caused the bottom of the shocks to rub the frame rails since eveything was not pushed inward. No bueno)
    upload_2024-7-1_15-51-43.jpg

Would have been fine, but since the outside tube was ran and burned in first…. The inner tube (should have been ran out first) was coped to accommodate to the junction…
    upload_2024-7-1_15-52-43.jpg

So just cut everything out and start fresh with new tubes built around the shock mounts to assure nothing is hitting. Shock position is much more important than stringing tubes first.
Tube layout will be the same, but outside tube that ran from the C pillar will no longer be there. Doesn’t give a benefit. Shock mounts and shocks will be prominent and then the interior tube structure will be replaced.

Yup… would have been so easy to just cut that outter tube out to then push the tops of the shocks out more so they didn’t hit the tube… but then it just made 4 other problems..

Fabricator before worked on it then pushed it to the side for other work and it just sat for about a year. Then he moved out of state and said he’d bring it out to his new shop but that never happened. Cluster fuck basically. I just cut ties and picked it up and took it to Tommy where it’ll get done. But he’s uncovering all this stuff so now we’re going backwards chasing things that are wrong.

Oh I thought Tommy was building it from the get go. Didn't he make the front kit?

Yea Tommy did the front kit and the interior cage, then he had his accident and was down for a minute. During that time a local guy said he could do the work. He raced a 1450 ranger for a long time and has done lots of fab work so took it to him as a buddy deal. Then just got pushed aside. But now Tommy’s back working and had his new shop, I knew I can trust him and he’s done the rest of the truck in the past, so he’s familiar with it and what I want it to be. So now it’s at his place getting finished. Finally lol

Hits keep coming. Now that the suspension geometry is correct, with the pinion angle change the axle housing now hits the rear tube structure. Cutting the frame rails off and pushing them back an inch or two to allow clearance. Basically started all the way over at this point.

Updates, Shocks mounted, bumps getting started, moving along. Wheels and tires get mounted next week then will have a 2 week break so he can work on a personal truck. After that, final welding, mounting rad and trans coolers, etc. Then on to the front.
