Sold my 2006 PreRunner with about 125,000 mi last year. It couldn't drive in the snow. I've been using a CVT Accord and I hate it.

Found a 2006 double cab long bed 4x4 which is what I wanted with 222,xxx for 13,500. They say all it needs is the blower motor for the AC. Is this a good deal and should jump on it or would it be stupid. Is there anything else I need to know about this vehicle mechanically? My prerunner was of course two-wheel drive so I don't know if the four-wheel drive would be reliable?

Inspect the frame THOROUGHLY. Especially on the inside of the frame rail up front near the catalytic converters. Don't just look at it - poke with a screwdriver anywhere that looks suspect. Photos look like it has lots of surface rust which some people are OK with, but if the rust is more extensive walk...no, RUN away and keep searching for something that won't break your heart later.

As far as the price being right for something of that mileage? Ehh, I don't know, everyone has different feelings on this. It's probably what the market will give them right now, but I don't think I'd personally pay that much.

Also FYI - 05's and 06's had head gasket failure issues. Granted this one has 200k+ miles so it might be OK, but it also might be a ticking time bomb. No way to check it, rolling the dice. Other later years typically don't have that problem. Food for thought. Good luck.

I would take a hard look at the inside of the frame channels. These trucks rust from the inside out.

No, unless that's all you can find in your budget range? Points about checking frame thoroughly I agree with.

Well without getting into other points

“all it needs is a blower motor”
More like “it needs way more but I am lying”

a blower motor is cheap. And easy to replace. That they could’ve, wouldve, and should’ve done if that was actually the case.

I just did mine. In a parking lot.
A/C still does not function 100%. I will likely need more. Including but not limited to a compressor and condenser.

    100%.
I’d use a bore scope, the rail areas near and behind the front cab mounts. You can go in from behind the boxed section by removing the plastic dust cover that’s bolted in at the opening.
Edit: A bore scope can be had on Amazon for about 30 bucks that works with your smartphone. They work great.

Buy it before somebody else does.
    It's a 4x4 a lot better than a worthless Prerunner.
