The auto struggle is real. I removed the hitch receiver because there's no way it'll ever tow anything.
It's been a long time but I remember the R150 in that first extra cab being way more fun.

My flatbed (3.4/R150F) has low compression and recently developed awful blow by, yet it can destroy my 04 since I can actually downshift when I want to. I far prefer driving an 02 double cab my friend in college had. It was predictable when mashing the pedal and had slightly faster throttle response of course. I can’t tow with my 99 because the hitch is too high up on the flatbed and I’m not using a two foot drop hitch lol. But my newly acquired 01 F-150 5.4 will be my tow rig for now thankfully.

For sure. Sometimes (like at Teton pass today) it was bumper to bumper traffic until the grade started. But I was able to hold momentum with the hills today in Wyoming a lot easier since there’s no traffic. Yup I was on US 24 yesterday.

I really haven't had issues with the throttle response but you do hear it a lot for 03-04

Ahh you were on your way out of town, headed west. You must have gone over Wilkerson Pass coming into South Park. I love the view heading westbound over that pass. After 50 miles of winding roads through mountains, you're suddenly staring at 1000 square miles of open grassland and 10 miles of almost perfectly straight road.

You know, thinking about this, I wonder if any of our existing solar packages have battery heaters, a lot of battery's stop charging and discharging after a certain point, maybe that's why everything is junk in the winter.

Never felt a lack of power with a R150. The slipping clutch i had was another story lol.

You should’ve seen it before I got terminals with enough room for everything

And everything actually has been crimped and heat shrunk now instead of bare wires wrapped around a screw :anonymous:

I went camping with an Air Force friend the first night in Rampart Range and backtracked north on I-25. So I didn’t even hit anything more crazy than driving up to Woodland Park. Now I’m in Victor, Idaho camping before a trail race near Jackson Sunday. Then I’ll stop in Utah and Colorado again to see friends on the drive back.

Passing through the Wyoming grasslands was very interesting.

Rando question: why did Toyota wait so long (til 2011 I think?) to make/brand its own kei truck?

yeah they may not have wanted to encroach on their daihatsu sales, but that answer doesn’t please me lol
