1st post! Been reading threads here for years for tips on how to solve Taco woes on my 03 reg cab 4x4 (in profile pic).

He’s a champ at 292k miles, and I figured with all the help y’all have been giving me, I may as well try to contribute where/if I can. Thanks y’all!

I’m in Prestonsburg out in Eastern Kentucky. I lived in Winchester for a long time but moved back to the area I was raised in for work. I now have a job that will allow me to live anywhere and central Ky is looking better but I also want to get out of the land of the taxed to death. Perhaps a lake house in the south.

Oh nice! I love eastern KY. My wife’s from Leslie County down near Virginia and we used to live just off the foothills in Berea before we moved up to Lexington (speaking of taxed to death lol). Your lake house idea is the way to live. Our dream is to buy or build a home off Owlsley Lake (east of Berea, near Big Hill and McKee).

So do they have houses that are lake front with private docks? I live at a lake but it is an army corp of engineers lake and they own the property around the water.

Nah it’s a no-wake city reservoir with a couple public launches for canoes and trolling motor fishing boats. No private docks that I’m aware of. Berea College owns most of the forestry around the lake, but there’re maybe 40 homes and a few big plots they don’t own. They’re all on the opposite side of the road that circles 3/4 of the lake. It’s beautiful, but may not be what you’re lookin for

I hear Laurel Lake down near Corbin is great too.

Thanks I don’t mind the no wake lakes they are great for kayaks and folks who like calm fishing and paddling. I’m te and my next home purchase will hopefully be my last so I am being very selective. I told the wife to look at ocean front retirement communities. lol she said “There is no way you would fit in. You like to shoot and hunt.” She does have a point.

Man retiring near the ocean would be great. Could always pull a camper back home for deer season

Okay okay I see you, friend!

I'm off Armstrong Mill, where we play the weekly game of Is-it-gunshots-or-fireworks? (It’s usually fireworks). Just moved up here from Berea last year
