Local dealer has a 2024 TRD OR 4X4 DCSB for 60K! There is a guy selling a clean TRD PRO right now for 46K. You can buy that and still have 14K left over to pick up a used daily driver.

You spelled bilstein 8112/8100 and a supercharger very oddly.

The easiest way to explain it is - The price is high, because it's for sale.

Post up here if you do too.

Nothing new showed up with pricing in my several months of lurking and shopping. It was all as economics text books were decades ago.

The total of new features and market dynamics allowed Toyota to set pricing. Sub-models with more supply and some market areas had discounts. Sub-models and/or some configurations had scarcity that allowed higher prices to stick. Shopping for a scarce one - long bed TRD OR - found huge differences where they are allocated and stocked. Shopping in an up to 500 mi circle and where I considered a cheap one-way plant ticket found biggest cities were more prone to discounts. Some dealers within 60 miles of bigger metro areas seemed to specialize in beating others prices.

The new Tacoma line plus some sub-models can hold higher prices for safety ratings and features the competition doesn't have. Consider long bed and manual transmissions as examples beyond IIHS top safety pick.

I'll post my theory right now.

    I paid $36,000 for my 3rd gen Taco in 2016. In today's dollars, that's $47,800.

You can't whine about the price increases without recognizing post-Covid inflation.

I just got rid of my 17 Trd offroad 4x4 dcsb for a 24 trd pro t4r for 55k. Got 22k for my truck paid off with 156,000 miles on it. Deal of the century. So happy with the switch. Tacoma to expensive and so will the new 4runner.

The first rule of Tacoma Price Theory is that you don't talk about your Tacoma Price Theory.

You can run it through Edmunds to get an idea of its trade-in value, but with that mileage, it's probably not a lot.
