Noticed i had a dent from inside on my roof, and pressing down with my hand on my roof there was a bolt that contacted the roof from under the headliner, but only on the driver's side.
Dropped the headliner and found the tpms/keyless module bolt went up pretty close to the roof. Added some washers to bring it down away from the roof.
There is now a ding and paint crack on my roof from this...
Any thoughts if Toyota could help since this seems like poor design?

Pictures taken after 3 washers added for spacing

Was the bolt actually touching the roof? Or was contact made with the bolt due to weight being put on the roof?
If it was touching, I’d remove the washers and take it to the dealer so they can see the original problem for themselves.
If you sat on, or otherwise applies weight resulting in contact, I’d say you’re probably on your own with this problem.

It was only touching when pressed with my hand. There was probably about 1cm between bolt and roof.

I figure ill be SOL with the dealer, just annoying there was such a small gap there

Never hurts to take it in to see what they say. I’d at least try anyway. Does seem like a crappy thing to happen due to poor design.

Worst part about taking it in is I'll have to take down my meso hexgrid ceiling rack thing again!
