My 2009 4x4 2.7 5sp has gone into limp mode and I'm not going to dump tons of money into it. It has 216k on it. Is there any type of fix without spending $900

Check all your fuses. I remember reading somewhere that there is a fuse that controls the throttle maybe by chance it blew

Limp is a protective feature, not necessarily a disaster.

Pull the codes to find out what you're dealing with.

Post them here if you are uncomfortable researching.

Have you cleaned it recently? I would disconnect the battery to reset the learning. The pcv valve might be bad if its stuck it can cause that code

Ì went and just ordered a new toyota one. I will probably do that with the pcv as well they are inexpensive.

Problem solved..... sorry about the delayed response but a new mass air flow sensor straightened it out. Before I installed the new one the truck ran with a major hesitation and at 3k rpm in every gear it would break up really bad as if it was governed.
