Tires rub after “JBA” UCA install

Before I get blasted for not searching, I did search, but couldn’t find a straight answer.

I have 6112’s and 5160’s. Truck is leveled, with Black rhino 16x8 -10, 265/75/16’s. I’ve had this setup for about 6 months and had minor rubbing. Trimmed the mud flaps and was good to go. I swapped my steering wheel out for new and went to get an alignment. Tech said my caster was out of spec. So I ordered some knock off JBA UCA hoping to get caster within spec. Before I get blasted for this…. Yes, I know I should have bought JBA, no these aren’t mid manufactured, I compared them to an actual set of JBA, but these were a 3rd of the cost. Now I have tire rub, granted I need another alignment obviously, but was certain the UCA would cause less rubbing than more?

so in theory, the alignment tech can move the LCA forward pulling the tire from the firewall?

 

A knowledgeable alignment tech can adjust the LCA cam bolts to move the LCA forward and the tire away from the firewall. The "high caster" UCAs are meant to improve handling characteristics for lifted trucks and actually move the tire backward toward the firewall.
