Sidenote seeing your welds convinced me to grab an argon mix bottle and new wire.... So much cleaner welds compared to flux core!

    They already shipped fortunately.

After all is said and done I think you'll get this set next week.

I recall you checking out some of the welds here lol

If the stuff is really dirty, I'll get a little bit of soot and a small hand brush (wire) easily cleans it up like so.

    20240716_114159.jpg

But if it's fairly clean, absolutely nothing is needed just like this.

    20240716_114205.jpg

    I use 75/25 gas mix.

    Solid fit.

Button head users will want to utilize a 6mm allen wrench.

Oh I am so committed! Put me down for deposit w/ tie down & button head bolts. If the black oxide proves too rust prone I'll just get some fresh hardware down the line.

Purchased Toyota Certified, with Vijay bumpers, additional lights, and Falken Wildpeaks on Fuel rims. Prev owner apparently painted the grill.
I'm no welder, but I'm a dab hand with an x-acto knife and some papercraft.

Print on tabloid or 11x17 paper, but CHECK IT AGAINST A KNOWN GOOD SCALE before using.

After checking the dimensions are correct, cut the template out, fold the triangular part back at 90 degrees. Note the notch for the bump that @Kwikvette has pointed out. Place the paper in the corner taking care to set the bottom on the steel base, rather than the fiberglass portion of the bed. Do your best not to roll the paper around the corner. Center punch the two holes. Ideally you should use a tri square to check the 2 inch dimension as shown in other photos, but if you don't have one... Why don't you have one? They really are useful.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Maaan, if I had a FINALIZED set I would've been cutting, bending, and welding your set as we speak brother!

Trust me, I'm just as excited to see these installed as anyone else here.

It's one thing holding said parts and being like "I'm pretty damn sure I'm fucking there" but another once it's actually going on someone's truck!

It needs to be installed without me being involved. I'll do something on the fly to make it work.

Having a 3rd party do it on their own will automatically tell me IT WORKS or IT DOESN'T.

Somehow I'm still not on the list, lol. So I'll say it again - I'M IN! Please add me to the list.

I'd be happy to provide a deposit. Mark me down for the simple bracket (no tie down, no bottle opener) and I'll source my own hardware. Thanks!

Hopefully they don't use something like so.

Now this is what I'm talking about! Next step is to set up laser projection in the garage foe extreme part placement accuracy!! :laser:

Little dude is waking up so I will say this - outside of a plain bracket, and a tie down bracket, for a third option how would you like to see a bottle opener added?

    I'll check in here later.

Bottle opener is cool, but not sure I'll ever use it. When I camp, I usually take cans to save space and avoid broken glass on the campsite.

Some stuff doesn’t come in cans or twist offs, like delicious trippel

But I don’t care either way, if you can’t figure out how to open a bottle using that top edge of the bracket carry a magnetic opener. Not everything has to have one

I’ll take a tie down bracket and I’ll source my own stainless buttonheads, but send what you got I’ll pay for em

also gen 2.5 but I don’t see any issues with it fitting, although fine being guinea pig if needed

I'm really looking forward to these.
Kind of like the 4WP version, it'd be cool (but totally not necessary!) to have "TRD" logo lettering cut out of the tie-down bracket that could be highlighted/accentuated by a different color backer (ie, TRD red). Is that even feasible @Kwikvette and @MagicToolbox? Might be more hassle than it's worth as plain would look great and a person could always add a bling sticker later if they wanted.
I do like the idea of an optional insert to provide a "softer radiused" surface for tie down loops, etc.
Either way, once I get my set I will get 'em sent to powdercoat and hop onto McMaster-Carr's site and get some stainless hardware for them - at least for the bolts visible in the bed.

Thanks for all the hard work on these! I would be happy to add my name to the list for early depositors, too.

Picked up the pooch from the vet.

    VideoCapture_20240716-083605.jpg

Got a light coat on the parts which I'll let dry until the hardware gets here.
