hello All. basically I am trying to get my AC working again. just installed a brand new compressor, fixed a leak in the line, but the AC is still not working. the AC button keeps on blinking non-stop. my mechanic is thinking it's the AC amplifier, which is a bit pricy. anyone seen this problem before, and/or, any one knows where I can get this item at a discount?
    thank you so much.
    Alex.

The flashing A/C light is when the A/C amplifier does not detect a speed signal from the compressor lock sensor after commanding the MG CLT relay on.
    Possible causes are:
Open or shorted wire(s) in the lock sensor circuit
    Bad lock sensor
    Internal problem in the compressor
Open or shorted wire(s) to the MG CLT relay
Open in the wire from the MG CLT relay to the compressor
    Failed compressor clutch
    Belt slipping
    Failed A/C amplifier

I really doubt it's the A/C Amplifier, does the A/C clutch turn on for a few seconds and then turn off when the light start's flashing or does it not turn on at all?

Was the light flashing with the old compressor?

Thank you so much for this great analysis. Really appreciate it.
So with the old compressor, the AC button did not flash because the the compressor never engaged. Once we installed the new compressor it started flashing. Regarding the AC Clutch, that is exactly what it does, it kicks in for few seconds then it stops. Once it stops, the AC button starts flashing. What a strange phenomenon. If you can help me isolate it, I would be most grateful. Thanks again.

    Alex.

That's good, that rules out pretty much everything but the Lock Sensor and Lock Sensor circuit.

If the old compressor is still available I'd swap the Lock Sensor from it to the new compressor, we've seen some issues with the Lock Sensors in some of the aftermarket compressors (Delphi being one) not working properly.

BTW: do you happen to have a picture of what the lock sensor looks like or where it sits on the compressor itself? thank you.
