    Hello TW members!

I have been lurking around here for a long time absorbing info which has been very helpful.

Before diving into my questions, I think it proper to set the stage of my Taco background. Back in 1998 I purchased a 1995.5 regular cab which soon became my obsession. It started with a set of used 31" Dunlop MTs which got me offroad. Next it went to SAW shocks and shackles and 63" Chevy leaf springs. When O started dragging ass on the trails, I bobbed the bed by 11" and armored it. Of course, the next evolution was as Dana 44 SAS and ARB lockers.

Now to present... I am at a point in my age that I just want to overland instead of having my butt puckered on every outing. I recently picked up a 2022 TRD OR AC that I am building as my daily driver and overland rig. I purchased a set of 5100s and Icon AAL with the OEM coils to give it a little boost.

The installation instructions say that Bilstein does not recommend using the highest setting with an access cab, or 4-banger. I contacted tech support asking them to expand on the reason. I assumed that is was related to the vehicle being lighter, thus lifting too high and messing with the CV shaft angles. Since, I have been going back and forth with the tech support who claims the issue ti be that the access cab has a shorter driveline from the trans to rear diff which causes prematue driveline wear.

Either I forgot everything that I know about driveline or they don't understand my question.

My question to this Team is are there any of you running 5100s, OEM cools set to the highest circlip setting on an access cab with 6' bed. If so, what lift did you get and how are your CV shaft angles?

Too bad you hadn't gotten any replies, this was very tastefully done. Nice work, I think you've finally settled me on a look that I'm after.

I picked up a set of 5100s for the front and rear of my access cab. My plan is to use the OEM springs and stay with the stock height. My thought is that I eventually want to get a bumper like a Greenlane with a winch. I can then adjust the front spring setting to accommodate the extra weight.

I hope to install the 5100s soon, but with this heat it might have to wait until the fall.

I also run 5100s w/OEM springs on the fourth setting for my AC. I went with a 1" block on the rear, but will be upgrading to a heavy duty AAL soon. It seems like just a little bit of weight in the back (200 +/- pounds) and I get that Carolina lean.

EDIT: Good looking AC cab man!

    Very sharp in blue, Bryan!

I went with the AAL so its not dragging ass when I trailer my SxS.

Yeah, that little bit of weight and towing my boat definitely drags ass. What AAL did you go with?

    Icon 1.5"

I have been historically opposed to AAL based on past experience but I will say that I am pleased with these.

UPDATE: Since I replaced the OE wheels/tires and lifted, the truck has picked up a terrible harmonic sound. It's in the back so I lowered the carrier bearing with the OME kit app 10mm. I also found the a rear tire was out of balance. The harmonics moved from 72MPH to 68MPH.

I have been all over this forum and reviewed the different diagnosis. What I am experiencing is not from the front prop shafts. The rear driveshaft angles are acceptable in my experience.

I am looking for insight to the carrier drop distance before chasing that rabbit. Otherwise, my plan is to mount my GoPro to the frame to witness the carrier bearing cushion as it isn't much. If that doesn't provide results, then video the pinion.

My request to this group is to provide feedback that will direct me to the source before I go down a path of wasted effort.

    Thank you in advance!
