I have just converted from the stock halogen/DRL headlights to new OEM TRD PRO Led headlights. I had a body shop install them with your harness. I noticed right away that the left headlight DRL is flickering, and the right-side headlight is not turn on. When using the right turn signal, the DRL converts to amber, but the left headlight DRL goes dark, and the inner headlight flashes opposite with the right turn signal. I have not inspected the connections, yet. I have been reading that high/low connectors can be easily connected back words. I have also read that mirror turn signals may not have valid resistance, and lastly aftermarket tail/brake light harness could also cause resistance issues. I have added sequential mirror turn signals (not sure the brand) and added led taillight bulb and harness that changes the reverse light to a turn signal. My question, it what I should look for 1st.

Step 1 is confirm the h9 male connectors are correct, polarity and properly seated. They are a crappy connection for sure, the OEM female connectors are designed to attach directly to the bulbs so the male h9's are plastic junk by design. If no functions work properly, that speaks to a problem with the high beam connector where ground is sourced.

Not sure what you mean by "inner headlight" though, and the "C" portion of these serving DRL (bright), Park (dim) and Turn (amber flash) isn't really called "the DRL" so much but I follow what you're trying to say there.

I will check the connectors as soon as I can today. As far as the inner, I guess I designated the main light that is closes to the grill as the inner. I have not really played with them(just got the truck back from the body shop yesterday and it had other issues(non electrical) so it went right back.

So as far as the emitters go on OEM LED, the innermost 2 are high beam, outermost 5 are low beam, separated by a black piece o plastic.

After checking all the connections and not seeing anything wrong, I decided to start from scratch and disconnect all connectors. I carefully connected each, making sure colors matched, connectors clicked. And to my surprise everything was working as designed. It was so simple! It does say something about the body shop and their attention to detail. Thank you, David, for making an excellent product!

I got a video once, from a shop, showing how they were unable to connect the h9's. The amount of effort on demonstrating how it "didn't work" was super impressive.

I truly wish I could offer something better than those connectors. Aptiv used to make a higher quality 9005 male (which would be T4R high beam, not Tacoma) but it's long since discontinued (lack of demand?) and I have never been able to locate stock.

For my own truck I went so far as to cut off the H11 and H9 females and converted to a 4 way 090II connector so I'd have a nicer connection. That took me over an hour of work on the truck and had zero functional benefit so I deemed it as a waste of time for the most part.

I have thought about taking the ground from the DRL or Turn connector but those circuits aren't rated for / expecting the full 35W draw on low/high beams so it feels "wrong" to use their grounds even though I suspect they all trace to the same spot with the same gauge wire.

The green and yellow heat shrink does help a bunch with the confusion between low and high beams from what I've noticed regarding questions about that. Polarity and connection seating though, there's just no way around spending the time to make sure it's good to go.

TLDR: I've thought about this a lot and I wish I could make things more user friendly without compromising anything.
