I never did the delete, but it seems like the effect of the accumulator decreased over time. Once highly annoying, after 50K miles I hardly notice it now. Or is it a matter of me just “getting used to it”?

I don’t see much talk about it anymore, although that could be due to 3G beginning to age out.

The accumulator annoyed the hell out of me for the entire 20k that it was untouched. 90k of modded life has been great.

I suspect you just got used to it. TBQH, I never noticed it in the first place.

Does effect of the accumulator vary between trucks?
Asking because I see so many comments from both sides: "It sucks, I can't even drive it properly!" to "Doesn't bother me" / "never noticed it".
I've driven stick for all of my driving years (over 3 decades) and I'm in the latter camp... Nothing really seemed that unusual to me when I got my 2018 (what I do notice sometimes is the throttle lag (stock tune), though even this isn't entirely consistent).

Tacos vary as do the drivers. If you don't feel a problem, you don't have to worry about it.

I have a '23 MT. The truck shifted smoothly, quickly and consistently for me since I purchased it new. Left the accumulator in place because I never noticed it.

I never felt like the accumulator nor deleting it made much difference really. I'd be interested to add it back and see if I regressed on that statement.

About 2 years and I've gotten used to it. Still have the accumulator disk sitting on my desk.

I do remember when I first took delivery it was awkward and felt like I was learning the nuances of clutch control all over again.

It depends a bit on what other MTs you have driven over the years. All my cars were MT to this point, but yeah even then it's pretty subtle when just leisurely rowing through the gears

The accumulator does not effect shifting. It affects clutch operation. I could be wrong, but I think its purpose is to protect the driveline when the driver dumps the clutch by slowing the velocity of the clutch. That and/or it smooths out the clutch operation if the driver does not operate the clutch pedal smoothly.

    https://www.powermotiontech.com/hydraulics/accumulators/article/21883829/accumulators

“Accumulators also can act as surge or pulsation absorbers, much as an air dome is used on pulsating piston or rotary pumps. Accumulators will cushion hydraulic hammer, reducing shocks caused by rapid operation or sudden starting and stopping of power cylinders in a hydraulic circuit”
