just a couple of things tbh
Well here ya go @gixxerphil I put the cowl on for an experiment lol.

I wanted to see how much it would keep wind out of my chest and my head area and tbh it did very well! the wind would only hit the top of my helmet barely so worked really well honestly! honestly a larger one windscreen would be best but i personally dont like the look so something small like this is better for the looks department.

    I dig it
There was a vid that had 20 of them. There was some cool work done.

I actually really like the look of it. Maybe you can just get it painted to match the tank so it blends in a little better? You'll also be pleasantly surprised at how much it can help on longer rides.

for me its a 50/50 since it looks more cafe instead of well cruiser lol i have kept it around to try and color match it and my fenders to see if i like it more. the big thing for me thou is the hardware used... it just looks cheap around the windscreen portion and it bothers the hell out of me haha.

i can imagine it does tbh after the bit of riding into work today it helped a lot with my neck being wobbled around. at 75mph i really dont notice the wind now faster since i found a nice open stretch to open the bike up:anonymous: you can feel wind but very minimal tbh.

Agreed I think it looks good. The one I put on my Duke made a difference even though it's fairly small.

I get what you mean though @Calamity_taco , I've seen ones that are quick release maybe you can set it up like that for easy removal if you only want it on longer trips.

If you want to see really well thought at quick detach stuff go look at a Harley Davidson dealership at some of their offerings. My ex g/f had a SuperGlide and it was set up with a detachable windshiled and sissy bar/luggage rack set up. Zero tools required and on/off took about 30 seconds.

@Calamity_taco Can the hardware be swapped out for nicer stuff? I can tell you I've changed out some fasteners on my FJR 1300 for that very reason. Crappy anodizing or coating so I found stainless steel hardware to replace it.

hey some small things work pretty great ya know:rofl:

ya that is true overall using it for when i daily to work is super nice its just that hardware looking so cheap that bothers me!
huh thats neat. i know the saddle bags im looking at have a quick release option so they come off easy but it adds another like 200 lol. detachable sissy bar would be awesome since i hate the look but i use it for the gf lol.

im not sure? it came with the bike and it looks to be an Amazon one of the orignal option yamaha use to sell.

I think that looks pretty good. you'll def appreciate the reduced wind buffeting, you're practically a sport biker now. I'm sure you could pretty easily swap the hardware for something you'd prefer. I've seen some "creative" solutions used before, including but not limited to drywall and wood screws, floss, fishing line, etc.

also update @kidsmoke after moving the lock from my OEM seat to the new cowl that doesn't have padding and is basically just a shell, the smaller Fantik X8 fits in my tail section with the included tube, as well as a plug kit, some flush edge shear cutters, and I just taped the factory toolset to the underside of the cowl

wait fishing line? whaaat?? how does one use fishing line lol. ya i wanna take it apart thou and see what i can do about the hardware if not ill just try and wrap the whole thing green to match the tank since i do want that in the end ya know.

also sport biker? that sounds odd lol

find two holes (or in the event a mounting hole is destroyed, drill a new one), and tie them together in place of a screw/clip  certainly wouldn't recommend this route though

now that you mention it it does sound odd lol

Well, I was sold on the 761s. Except nobody can get my sizes. Almost everything I can find is out of stock. Except the Michelin Anakee Adventure tires. Looks like the OEM size was a bit smaller, but not enough to make things better. I’m finding a handful of TUBELESS options. Can anybody advise me on running an innertube with tubeless tires?

    It's not an issue.

Tubeless tires are probably tested to a different precision for leaking air through the tire. Where a tubed tire wouldn't be. Most "street" tires are tubeless

To me, it looks better with than without. But I am all about utility, lookin cool dont mean shit if it cant get the job done. Kind of like having a Maserati with a GM Iron Duke 4 cylinder in it.

I dont think Madstad makes one, but Puig might. Something easy on and off, adds a lot of utility to the bike. Your mileage may vary, here, if you going anywhere other than a local bar, you got an hour or two ride, and in the spring, expect 30 mph winds.

By the by, take what I say as worth what you paid for it. I'd eat peanut butter and crackers and drink light beer for 4 months to save money for a seat and wind protection, saddlebags come next. It's that important. One thing all my bikes have had in common, seat to fit my ass, wind protection and saddlebags. It can be cooler than shit, but if I cant make a 500 mile day, dont need it. YMMV

I have done it and never had problems. I think manufactures say drop a speed range if you do. Which might apply to a track bike, but probably not a street bike.

Eh I like the naked look of it since I also prefer naked bikes over full fairing sport bikes. I don't hate the look I just don't like this one for looking so cheap ATM I'll keep it on since I'm commuting with it since it's nice out now. I'll try color matching it to see if it helps my opinion of it. I also did look at that company and didn't like some of the styles tbh

Wellp, ended up getting Dunlop D404s for it. Had to just slightly change size at the rear, but I need something I can easy get for it since I’ll be riding it all day everyday everywhere. I don’t really intend to ride it like a dirt bike, at most it’ll see gravel fire roads.

Most times, going a size up isn't too bad. It's like trucks.

Mine is a 120/80/18 stock and I went 120/90/18. Not a huge difference. You'll be fine. Speedo might be a bit off
