I’ve tried searching for a thread on dash light connections and the things I see posted aren’t on my ‘23. I need a source for a new switch to control the light on the switch. I even bought one of those wiring harness pieces from the Tacomabeast site, but unfortunately they don’t mention it doesn’t work on a ‘23 so already wasted money on something I can’t use. I have a ‘23 SR and none of my factory switches (I’ve pulled them all) have anything that looks like their harness connections. I just need a spot or a wire color to look for that I can get to to make the connection.

My switch has 4 wires. Green goes to fuse for power. First red goes to my accessory. Second red goes to dash lights. And black goes to ground.

    Thanks for any help.

I'm assuming the new switch will be installed next to factory switches?

If so, my method is just tapping into one of the factory switches for the illumination. It's pretty simple and just requires a multimeter. With the key on, engine off and headlights turned off, start probing each wire on any factory switch until you find a wire that has 0 volts, then turn on the headlights and it should have 12 volts, you've just found the illumination wire for that switch. Tap into it however you like and wire up the rest of the wiring on the new switch.

How about a picture of the connector to any of the Taco's switches...illumination (+) are green. Illumination (-) is beige.

    Thank you for the answers.

My switch now when I turn the truck on part of it glows white. When I turn the lights on, another part of the switch is illuminated blue and is controlled by the dimmer. Not sure why part of it glows white all the time or if that is how it was made.

Wondering if it matters if I I run the ground to common or to your beige illumination (-) ?
