Normal tick or ticking time bomb?

My truck has been making this inconsistent ticking noise since 10k miles (at 26k now). It only does it under load when warm and doesn’t do it all the time. I’ve heard anything from “normal” to “probably a stuck lifter and it could wipe out your engine”. I’m trying to avoid the dealer at the moment because we all know they either won’t be able to replicate it or will say it’s fine.

Sounds normal to me.
I’d be more worried if it didn’t make the noise.

Sounds just like mine you are probably hearing the direct injection all normal tick.

 

Your should you accept it ... is to try to outrun the police in your Tacoma in a trailer park. If you are caught or killed in the attempt, you will be ridiculed on YT. This message will self-destruct.
