I just got these axles as a set and this one has this bend in the ring that goes against the steering knuckle. Should I send this back or try to straighten it out and run it.17214357414854820752781273591538.jpg 20240719_203210.jpg

I have not replaced a CV shaft myself, but I see a rubber seal on the inside that will do most of the sealing. Seems that metal ring is just to keep larger debris away. So, I say just bend it into shape as much as you can.

Lots of those get bent from shipping. They are fine, can easily bend back.

That's what I was hoping to hear, especially since it wasn't completely mashed.

Just so you know: The seal that is mounted in the steering knuckle has a metal lip that will rub and make a grinding/annoying sound if you do not get that CV metal lip straight.

Not a big deal at all. They bend so easily and it doesn’t make a difference, although for keeping debris out I would try and bend it back to kind of where it was originally like the guy above me said. If you set the cv down really lightly it can also go out of shape.

    Just bend it back

that bent part does not effect the seal. it is just there to protect from rocks and such.

    are those aftermarket axles?

Yeah they are aftermarket, picked them up from extreme terrain, they seem to be about the same as something from auto zone. Nothing special.
