    Wasn't Microsoft. Back when Service Pack 2 came out for Windows NT 4 that was Microsoft. This was 100% CrowdStrike Falcon. And AWS due to CrowdStrike, apparently Microsoft Azure wasn't affected except for VM servers, which are managed by individual owners. We didn't skip a beat which was as much luck as anything else.

    I'm on the IT architecture review board and according to management are supposed to put everything possible in the cloud. Yet it is pretty much a standing joke in IT when there is an issue everyone says "Hey I have an idea let's put it in the cloud". I am vocal about not doing it for many apps but being retired Navy real ships rock and I don't care. I'm sure there will be some committees looking at the outage from a 10,000 foot level and hopefully they will finally get it. No one cares about your shit like you do that is real life. Last week I called tech support for one of the apps in the cloud and we pay for double platinum tech support. Got voicemail, they don't offer triple platinum LOL.

    As the Level 3 Sr. Tech Specialist I am the guy they keep in the basement. Actually my living room in my recliner long before working from home was a thing. If we go down I don't have time for a situation manager or incident manager, go away. I will let you know when I know so that you can update management and users. Can't troubleshoot and sit in on a virtual circle jerk call at the same time. Just saying, I have them well trained and they usually leave me alone. If I call in to the bridge then the issue is coming from somewhere else or it is to say you can close the incident.
