Hi All. Looking to see what is the biggest tire (want to do 35's) with a 2.5" to 3" lift, without having to chop the cab or frame. Any help would be great. I keep reading so many that go back and forth on this. Just hoping I can do 35's

    Thanks all

You will not fit 35s without cutting. Period.

Even low offset wheels like the stock wheel, you will rub.

Even on 33s with a lift theres potential to rub if you don't trim fenders or cab mounts.

    Other things to consider
    1. are you mall crawling or rock crawling, you don't need to cut much if you're puttering around parking lots.
    2. What is the actual measured diameter of the tire. What is a technical 33" tire often measures smaller
    3. Wheel offset. More poke = more rub. See scrub radius. Aside from more offset required for a 35 to not rub your uca

Thx man! I had a feeling that was the case. Not many places where I live that do that sort of thing. I normally do all my own stuff, but I am not a welder / fabricator. I guess the next search is to find a shop to do it. Thanks again!

Yup! As you saw there are countless threads on this topic. My opinion is 33s or smaller if you want minimal problems. Anything larger and the issues or necessary modifications compound.

I would like to do a full on suspension system and larger tires for more offroad / overlanding use. I'm not looking to do anything extreme. My kid calls my Taco the Mall Crawler or the Pavement Princess.... Lol

If you want maximum diameter than 33" skinnies are the move.

Lift won't do a whole lot for fitting 35s on this thing (unless you do a ridiculous 6" DB lift). You need to look into trimming your fenders, replacing the inner fender liner, beating back the pinch weld, and tubbing the firewall. As mentioned above you'll also need to get a shop to do your CMC, but that's really not complicated or expensive to do. All the fender trimming stuff can be done in your driveway with an angle grinder, and the tubbing/pinch weld with a nice big hammer.

You can also look into some aftermarket LCAs like those from BTF Fab and Solo Motorsports which advance the position of the LBJ to give more clearance around the firewall. There's also the JD Fab LCA pivot as another option to keep your OEM LCAs and achieve the same effect.

If you have to ask that, you aren’t ready for 35’s. Also going to want new gears if you’re going 35’s

Thx for info. Yes, I know the lift won’t help, just stating that this is my goal in the long run. I know I’ve read re-gearing is a GOOD idea with 35’s or bigger. That is something I was hoping to avoid.
looks like I have more research to do n thk the guys that offer help

    thx guys

Realistically 34’s may be the max without a chop. I’m on 33’s and still rub in reverse but I also haven’t trimmed anything. The adjustable uca’s help too.

I def want to do the UCAs with the suspension all at once.
There’s a lot of pieces to the puzzle n I’ll have to research the threads n YouTube to see exactly where I want to be. Problem is, everything costs big bucks these days! I used to laugh when I heard of $85k n up Tacomas. I’ve got over $15k invested in my 2017 as it is. lol
