Hi all, I've been having issues with the BSM on my 2016 TRD-OR failing. Generally after significant rain. Any ideas? Has this been a common issue? Thanks!....Chris

    Would never trust those things.
In Motorcycle Safety Class I learned many things, several of which have literally saved my skin a few times.

One of the things they said was:
Mirrors say NO, but they never say GO

I'm an old-fart and have been turning my little head for longer than many on here have been living.
I reckon a few more years won't hurt none.

He's asking about a failure of the system, not old fart driving advise.

OP, I've had issues with radar cruise control after heavy rain but that resolves itself almost immediately after the weather clears up. Does it function otherwise during clear weather? Mine is turned off, but I'd start by figuring out where the sensors are located and see if the wiring is solid, weatherproof and that they're clean.

I had an issue with mine a few months ago. Dealer replaced them under a warranty issue. Mine is also a 2016.

Had issues with mine as well awhile back. Nothing was broken but the dealer had to do a reset of some sort. Been working since.

Mine will fail after about 20+ miles of beach driving. After I give it a good wash under the bumper, it will come back on. I don’t have mud flaps but am considering getting some to see if that helps.
If you don’t have mud flaps, you might try that.

Thanks, y'all. It's working again. I will crawl under there and take a look at the wiring. The mud flap thing is a good idea, too. My three previous Toyota trucks all had them ('86, '84, '02), and I've always wondered why this one didn't.

@Jesse H I was thinking the exact same thing....and I'm an old fart, too!

I appreciate everyone's input. Thank you.
