Looking at a Tacoma with really really low miles. It’s a 2012 sr5 4wd. I wanted to get some opinions with the frame rust. Is this a pass? Attached are pictures. Appreciate the insights! image000000.jpg image000001.jpg image000000.jpg

Check the part of the frame where the metal is layered/sandwiched

Bak Revolver X4S tonneau cover. Android Auto USB plug upgrade! H11 to H9. Sound deadened/insulated floors and rear wall. VLED license plate reverse light. Yokohama GO15s. Rokblokz mud flaps. "Custom" 3in Flowmaster Super 50 Series cat back with a 3in Speedys Snap resonator. J&L catch can. AMP Powersteps
Check up by the cats as that's a really common area to rust. Other than that surface rust it's not too shabby

Doesn’t appear too bad. I’d WoolWax it and drive off into the sunset.

Doesn't look too bad to me - surface rust it appears. Be sure to do a more thorough check for places the rust may eaten through the frame, but it does not appear to be that bad in these pictures.

PNW here too - looking at your name tag, I’m guessing you’re from Oretucky like me and this might be a coastal truck?

If so, you might want to look in to coating the frame on semi-regular intervals. I’d also look in to touching up any concerning rust spots with Ospho & POR.

That salty air at the coast can be pretty hard on metal. Premium example of an Oregon coastal truck below lol

    minor tweaks
I wouldn't have a problem buying that tacoma if the price was right and I'd use the surface rust as a possible bargaining point if needed. If you end up with it, get on that rust quick. the repair cost/effort goes up exponentially the longer that's ignored.
