    Hi Everyone!

hopefully you guys can help answer these problems I am having. Out of no where my Amp steps stop retracting upwards (Driver Side, passenger side works just fine) and when I open the door it just sounds like the motor is spinning and not actually working. Then my lights are now staying on after I turn my vehicle off which has not happened before the step situation. Do you guys have any suggestions or answers? Thank you in advance!

How long ago were they installed?

    Did you install them yourself?

Sounds like the pinion gear has sheared off.

The motor spins a pinion gear which turns the hinge for the steps to fold and unfold.

When my gear sheared off, the step stayed in the "dropped/unfolded" position.

There's only 1 motor for each side. There's 2 hinges per side but the motor only drives 1 hinge.

Pull the motor on the side that is broken... it should be easy to tell if it's the gear.

If it is... the hard part is sourcing the parts now that AMP has been sold to Lund.
