You can drive around for a while with a slow leak from the axles. Nicer if you have a skid plate to catch it though, so you aren't putting it on the ground. There's a lot of oil in there, so a slow drip isn't going to do much... but don't let the level get too low, especially if you are putting torque through the gears. It's not easy on the back but I can pull the plug and top it off in the driveway without removing the tire.

If you do swap the seals, it always sucks to pull the axles, I always have to take a few breaks and swear a lot. You can find various tips here, I try them all in rotation. But the key advice I can offer, make sure to buy a spare seal so you can screw one up. And then, make sure to drive it to the correct depth. You don't hammer it all the way in, and you want it level. Search around for the correct depth, I don't want to quote it wrong here. There's a special tool (SST) from Toyota, or you can fashion something, but I just use the old seal held against the new and a hammer it in slowly, might take 10 minutes tapping and checking it all around with a depth gauge.

Another possibility is they didn't use a new drain bolt washer or the one they used didn't seal. The last set of drain bolt washers I bought looked kinda cheesy so I reused what was in there but I know there's a possibility I won't get away with it every time

Other than replacing tires, Jiffy Lube was the only place to touch my last work truck from new through the 120K mi I had it and truck before it for the entire time I drove it (4 years). JL had the service contract for our company. Zero complaints from 7 years of servicing there. JL is like any place, even dealers, job quality is based on the person(s) doing the work.
