    The interior is in awesome condition... :redxfall:

    Plus side:
    It has all but 1 piece of the exclusive and difficult to obtain LTD trim and it is all in presentable condition.
    All the glass is good.
    The body looks pretty good walking around - the paint has lots of patina... :rolleyes:
    It's buggered

    It does seem to run & drive pretty much OK.

    However...

    The dark side:
    The 1965-68 full size Fords use a "torque box" frame, the torque boxes being the large box sections ahead of the rear wheels & behind the front wheels joined by the side rails as seen below.

    While providing an excellent and class leading quiet ride these frames had numerous dirt traps that allowed dirt/water/salt to enter the frame and sit there - they had a reputation for frame rust clear back in the 1970's.

    As a general rule any salt state big Ford of this era is going to have frame issues. :(

    Even though this car has very low miles the frame is knackered. :pout:

    I knew this going in, changing a frame and repairing the body rust underneath the car is a rotten job, however odd as it sounds finding a good frame and reconditioning it is easier than finding the LTD exclusive interior and all the trim.

    Yeah, I bought a big project - on the other hand I have wanted one of these cars a long time.

    :gossip: I didn't pay a heck of a lot. ;)


    ...and I got the color I wanted too. :yay:



    ...and a big block engine. :woot::woot:
