What’s up guys I currently have a 2000 Tacoma Prerunner with a 6” RC lift kit. The truck looks pretty cool with the lift but I would much rather have a 3” lift since I’ve heard it’ll ride much better. My question is would I need to buy a whole new lift kit or would be able to use the existing parts I have and just buy what I need. Also wanting to buy some bilstein 5100 to help with it. Any feedback is appreciated!

Or that simple unfortunately. You’ll need a cross member welded in since the original was cut out. New spindles just to name a couple.

I can see its that goofy trail gear kit too so youll need upper control arms as well on top of welding in a new cross member and stock knuckles.

The height of the lift has little to do with the ride. Ride quality is almost entirely a function of the springs & shocks you have on it (handling can be greatly affected by this as well). If you are otherwise happy with the lift, I suggest toss some better shocks/springs on it (I see you have the tall lift spacers atop stock front shocks, so this is almost certainly your issue). Bilstein is a good choice, although I'm not sure if they're making anything for 4-6" lifts anymore, you might have to use Bilstein shocks for a stock application while keeping those spacers.
Fox has some nice 4-6" lift options... A little more $$$ (ok, quite a bit more lol), but worth it IMO.
For less $$$ than Fox is RC Vertex shocks, which seem to get decent reviews for their cost.

Your truck looks good, save for maybe needing another inch or so lift on the rear. I'd say work with what you have.
As others have said, there's more to de-installing that type of lift than simply unbolting and rebolting parts (assuming the 1st-gen frame is similar to 2nd/3rd gen where the crossmember had to be cut).
