Damnit. Can I patch or plug this somewhere? Brand new fucking wheels from the dealer 4 months ago. Very tiny air bubbles from soap spray, came from a brad nail.

You can put a plug in it yourself if you want but no shop will plug or patch within the an inch of the edge of the tread

Think it'll hold okay? It's a fairly light leak

Know any good shops that might do it this close to the edge? I'm in Denver if that helps

No, I live in Santa Fe.
But I always have better luck at independent tire shops vs big O or discount

Unless you happen to know a friend of a friend, no shop will patch anything that close to the edge of the tire.

    Sucks, but buy another tire.

I picked up this gem from the roofing company this morning. $250 for a new Toyo AT3.

Hit up one of the hole in the wall tire shops. RZ tire garage will probably take care of you if your on the west side of town

I ran the oem set for years and 3 out of the 4 were patched. :anonymous: I finally bought 5 new Toyo at3's and made it almost 2 years without issue until today. It is what it is.

I'm sorry dude. When it rains it pours sometimes. Hopefully you can get something else lined up soon.

As a former service manager, I wouldn't plug or patch that if it came into my shop. Too close to the edge of the tire.

You can patch it and it will work for a while. But be weary when the whether is hot. It will not last. This is speaking from experience :anonymous:. Treat it as a band-aid until you can get a new tire.

We put plugs in everything and 99% of the time they last the life of the tire. The trick is to use rubber cement as the lube that goes in with the plug. Trim the end sticking out with a razor blade and then light the glue on fire. It cooks down and "cauterizes" it so no water can leak in. Trust me, I've been doing for almost 20 years

Yes that one is close to the sidewall but it won't hurt to try

Had a similar issue before. Find a shop that will cauterize the tire. I was able to run 40k after getting it fixed.

The shop I take my civic to did me a huge solid and threw some glue / compound (not really sure what exactly they did) on the inside, the nail didn't go all the way through. Should hold fairly well, shout-out to Lee Myles in Northglenn. It hasn't leaked since the few days it's been on, so I suspect we'll be alright. The dealer I got my taco from said there isn't a road hazard warranty, so I just need to be a bit careful.
