So, I am doing this very thing with the Opt7 sequentials to my 2021 Limited. Will this add a fuse and relay to the purple wire to the cab light switch work for my model as well?

If so, then what size fuse and relay would I need? I figured 12v but I’m also seeing different amps for the relays.

I guess my final question if it works would be, do I need to leave the cab light switch on for the running board lights to go white when a door is open or would this make the running board whites switchable with the cab light? Might be cool if it could be manually switched that way as well.

    Yes
Fuse amps is whatever the Opt7 calls for. Relay should be able to handle the fuse you install. They are LED's so it should be low amps.
    No
No, that would involve tying into the overhead switch, something different to what the OP has.

I believe it is the same as OP, Opt7 Sequential Running Board Lights.

Would you want the outside lights ON (White) when you turn the Cab illumination switch on?

Possibly. Do I have that option for it to follow the cab light?

Tried to draw a circuit, but it would get a bit complicated. You'd loose the Hazard's/Turn due to the ground position tap (dimming) to tie into the Cab Illumination switch.

Okay so my question would be this. Am I able to tap into the wire that is connected to the door. When I open the door there is a little button that enables the dome light to come on when depressed (door open)and off when it is pressed (door closed). Would it make sense to just tap into that?

For the sequential turn signal and parking light feature, I tapped into the respective wires in the headlight housing unit. They work. Just haven't decided the route that would be easiest. I too am using the same product as @Prime1017

I can’t say whether it’s legal or illegal, I live in Los Angeles, but the reason I installed them is for safety. Making sure people know where my truck is positioned, or when I’m making turns or lane changes. I always have a fear of side swiping someone that I couldn’t see. So let me help them by making myself seen.

18wheelers use the same concept because they drive through fog or snow where visibility may be impaired.

Because the light was wired to the cargo light,
If I was parked, but my headlights are on, my amber running lights would be on. If I turn on my truck bed (cargo) light, the running board lights will turn white. This is with the door closed.

So the cargo switch can manually turn on the white light but not the amber.

Change the tap from the Cargo Switch connector's blue wire to the Cargo Lamp IE1 connector pin 14 (lime green) that way you'll get amber or white with Cargo Lamp switch position.

Thank you, but I think it’s ok the way it is. the only thing I would want to add, is a way to turn off the running board lights completely while driving at night, let’s say I was cruising down the highway at 90mph, no doubt the cops will trace exactly where my bright amber lights are.
My idea was some how add a rocker switch to the ground? Not sure ahaha just an idea.

thanks for the help, glad others also think it’s a good idea for courtesy/ running board lights.

Switch to ground = all off.
Switch to Parking tap = Amber OFF.

@kmorgan3 , could you hook me up with one of your customers harnesses that you did with Prime1017? Just let me know how much we are talking about. I'm currently doing the same as he is doing. I'm only missing the courtesy light function. The amber lights and turn signals are working great.

Relay for relay, just make sure you ID the pins correctly.
