Top speed is a good question. How long it takes to get there is very easy. Forever!

+- 36 MPH if you hold it in 1st and floor it. (and run Sunoco 103 octane AVgas.) If it has a rev-limiter: 38 MPH tops :D

OK: Serious: Maybe 85. But I wouldn't try it in 25 year old truck. Straight off the cliff, this one is probably descending at 28 mph. Aerodynamics is everything.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Speed is limited at the computer at 105mph, it cuts fuel then.

You have been warned. (by her) That overheating is the secret: "old-school early warning system" talking to you.... she's not happy. Stick to saying under 48 mph....
Keep it up and she will stall and refuse to re-start for seven days. Ignore that and the leaking fluids will start showing up with the big bills to repair.

Just pop the hood and check the coolant expansion bottle. (if so equipped) If he was wailing on it and she "warned him" by blowing off enough coolant to fill it to the cap, or she over-flowed it: you'll know... (and he will know you know...) You won't have to say a word: just close the hood. (Just like my Dad knew I knew what he knew 50 years ago.) 1970 Ford Mustang SportsRoof sleeper in "Calypso Coral" with color matched steel wheels and dog-dish hubcaps, and a 351 Cleveland V8 under the hood.) (His car, not mine.) uh-oh
