I'm 31 y/o and just got married. Felt right to buy a truck - imagining I'll have plenty of things to haul around for home improvement.

I bought an automatic 2000 pre-runner v6 - 164,000 miles. Just changed the rear diff oil and the engine oil. Planning on changing spark plugs/ boots/ wires next.

I'm not sure if it's a LSD, and it's giving me anxiety driving it around without an LSD additive in the rear diff - do I need to put the additive in there?

Happy to be here! I've also never been in a forum before so forgive me for lacking etiquette

    Welcome to TW…congratulations:fistbump:
It depends on what kind of oil is needed vs what you put in it.
Some gear oils have the additive .

Thank you! Good to be here.

I used STP 80W-90. Don't see anything on the bottle that says it has additives, other than oxidation and corrosion/ rust protection additive. Thank you for the quick reply

The additives allow the plates to slip a little, preventing too much lockup

Does it feel like you are binding in sharp turns?

I think I'm just going to jack her up and try the wheel spin test - will update once I do that. I've been avoiding trying that because I haven't bought a jack yet but gonna go to HF and get one right now
