    Hi Guys,
I have read the forums since I have had my 06 when I purchased it new. I am now in a position to finally build & mod my truck to something I want and fits my budget. I am looking for help and factually info. on the rim & wheel fitment. There is a ton of info., but its all over the place and sometimes lacks deeper info. to make the right decisions. This vehicle will most likely be 95% road and 5% dirt driven if I am being honest, but I would like it to have some great capability for fun.

The vehicle is currently a stock TRD Sport except a K&N air filter, Gibson Exhaust, New head unit with backup camera. I live in Cali, so its a pain in the butt to make to many engine mods that will actually pass emissions.

    Plan:
    Action 1) 2-3 lift, tires & wheels.
    - 2-3" OME lift with springs, nitro shocks, UCA and rear leaf pack, all set for a medium added weight.
    - 285/70r17 BFGoodrich KO3 ( 32.8 diameter & 57 to 61 lbs )
    - Method 701 Matte Black 17x9, -12 offset & 4.62 back spacing.
NOTE: current setup is stock 17x7.5, 30 offset & 4.5 back spacing w/ 265/65r17 tire.

I am aware that there maybe some plastic and fender trimming but from what I have read no cmc (cab mount chop) needed. I would prefer to avoid this.

After driving on this for a short time, hopefully I will be able to decide if regearing is needed. I want to keep the truck peppy, but know that larger diameter wheels & heavier tires affect this. I'd like to do ARB air lockers.

Action 2) To Gear or not to gear, ARB air lockers & Tundra front brake upgrade.
    - My prior paragraph will largely dictate what I do about regearing, but lockers are wanted and it just makes sense to beef up the brakes( and it sounds like a great simple mod with great benefits if using OEM parts).
My soon to be 16 yr old daughter will be the daily driver as it will be MY DIRT TOY!

    Action 3) ARMOR
    - Relentless Hybrid Front bumper and Rear High Clearance Plate bumper
    - RCI complete underbody armor setup
    - Cali Raised trail edition rock sliders

Other Action - to be performed either during the different build steps or after.
    - Bumper lighting kits & ditch lights
    - possibly spare tire swingout or trailer mount setup
    - dark gray, matte finish repainting, I hope (depends on budget)
    - maybe 2" fiberglass front flared fenders from McNeil.

Before anyone says it, I would love to do reservoir shocks and a long arm travel kit but based on my budget and usage I would not get the benefit out of them. Furthermore, my cousin, Kurt William; Land Cruiser expert; who has wheeled on 5 continents and has a ton of overlanding experience, agrees that it would be overkill for my actual usage.

I grew up in SoCal and love the baja prerunner style trucks that I saw when I was a teen. I have looked at tons of gear, setups and builds others have done, spent well over 100 plus hours of online time checking out stuff.

Again, I am really looking for help on the tire and wheel fitment actions of my build plan.

    Thanks in advance!
