I have about 15K on mine since switching from the Falkens. The Toyo's are much better imho.

Ive been running the Open country AT3's for about 35k miles and I am very happy with them. Super quiet and they still look brand new. I highly recommend them. I ran the AT2s previous to the 3's and it was a great improvement.

The only real solution is 2 sets of wheels.

I keep one set of M/T for hunting, serious off roading.
Most the time I’m running my A/T set because they have better road manners.

Stuff that costs more than my wife thinks.
Wildpeak AT3W's checking in. Probably going to go one and done on these.

They're good on the road and do fine offroad, but that might be where it ends. I will say that I put a couple small gashes in the sidewall and they're still holding up. Just think there's something better out there for next round.

I ran Maxxis RAZR MTs (E load) for a while, and recently switched to Toyo RT Trails (also E load)...

...we'll see if the 2 ply sidewalls on the Toyos can handle the wheeling I do...time will tell if they hold up like the Maxxis did.

Anybody know a Toyota dealer in the valley that has a new Land Cruiser in the showroom?

I swung by Camelback and they had one in the showroom as well as 3 more on the lot. They are really nice, noticeably nicer inside than even a premium package 4runner. Didnt drive one, still want to though so I can feel what the new drivetrain is like. Initial impressions are really good, its very nice inside, its bigger than I expected, its quite difficult to see over the hood even for someone 6 feet tall, the cargo area floor is really really high, there must be gear related to the hybrid drivetrain underneath, it badly needs a lift and bigger/more aggressive tires. Overall its very cool but at ~$20,000 more expensive than a comparable trim level 4Runner is a really hard sell. Also, the sales manager was straight up about the fact that they would make huge moves on any in stock 4Runner. Id be willing to bet one could pretty easily get $5000, if not more off msrp of a 4Runner.

Took a crack at making myself a morale patch wall this weekend... the results so far are promising, but there's a few spots I think I could do better if I had to do it again.

    20240727_174312.jpg
Framed it out with OSB on my kitchen floor because screw going outside.
    20240727_205531.jpg
Super simple on the back side, 4 foot by 3/4" square hardwood around the outside, then a french cleat to hang it up and adjust it on the wall, and a 2 foot piece of scrap wood from woodworker's source to give it the last little bit of structural stability.

Flopped some felt over it and adhered it down with some spray adhesive, then stretched the edges around the outside trim and stapled it all down.
    20240728_123356.jpg

Screwed up one corner which is gonna drive me bonkers but I think overall it looks great.

Not sure how well the spray adhesive is actually adhering but we'll see, it's also stretched tight and stapled so that may not even have been strictly necessary.
    20240728_155750.jpg
Definitely looks a lot better than the lumpy patch panels I currently have. Just gotta find the studs and hang the other side of the french cleat on the wall!

Low resolution because some of these might be questionable in full resolution

Turned out freakin awesome. Still arranging furniture, moving network ports, etc. etc. in this room, but it definitely looks way better than the hanging sheet style.

Anyone know which kind of 3rd party front/back up cameras can handle this AZ heat? Mine keep flashing to black or just say no signal. But when I go up north, they work just fine.

Tried the Natika and HD eRapta cameras. Natika claims they're good to 185F and eRta says 149F but it seems like neither can handle AZ. Sometimes I even got flashing out of my garage

I have a Natika mounted for a front camera and have had no issues. Thing is almost 4 years old but only in AZ heat about a year.

I had a Rexing M2 on my old car for ~3 years, and a Wolfbox G840S on the truck right now. These are both digital rear view mirrors with front/rear recording, never had any issues with heat. The rear cameras on both sat in direct sun light the entire time, and so does the screen and front camera unit when I dont have a sunshade up

I've been looking at the wolfbox mirrors, I'd just have to figure out where to mount the camera. Was thinking about putting it on my bed rack somewhere.
