    Oh there will be some mods all right
    If for some reason the cell phone stuff doesn't pan out I'll probably go that way. I just would rather it be on a phone for several reasons. My phone is always on me, wouldn't have to carry 2 devices, modern flagship phones are much faster and more capable than any other handheld devices, and wouldn't have a separate bill for service.

    My inreach will stick around for a while even with all this new stuff coming. Phone capability is great for a lot of things but for longer and more remote adventures I still prefer a dedicated device.

    I also use the tracking points which won’t be replaced anytime soon.

    That’s what I do. It lives on the dash most of the time unless going on a longer adventure via another means. Plus then it’s always at 100% charge when I do leave the truck.
