getting ready to order the gear oil for the diffs and transfer case on my 3rd gen taco, but noticed the manual calls for 75W-85 and everything I see online has people putting in 75W-90. Curious on opinions because the cost difference is dramatic.

Anything that is a GL5 gear oil will be perfectly fine.

I plan on using Mobil 1 75w90 in the diffs and redline in the transfer case, fairly sure about this from my last research sprint but you should with fine if you use 75w90 in all three. From what I recall, 75w85 isn't really a thing that's made other than the crazy expensive OEM stuff that isn't any better.Screenshot_20240716-210014.png

    Redline and others make 75w-85.

It's the 75W transfer oil that's so pricey from Toyota. I like using MT-LV in its place.

I use this stuff in all three of my Toyota trucks. Change every 30k and never had an issue. The squeeze bag really helps with the front diff filling. I will never use a pump again!!

Yup I used the valvoline squeeze bags for the front, and a valvoline jug + pump for the rear. Go with the bags if you can it's totally worth it.

I ended up going with the Amsoil because they had both the diff oil and a good manual trans oil in the squeeze bags. I couldn’t find the manual trans oil in the Valvoline bags and didn’t want to make separate orders.
