Just wondering if anybody know any console box mods to make it smaller or after market parts or even parts from other cars that fit. I never use this console box and it's so big and get's in the way. I sort of just want to remove it entirely, but then there's a huge hole in the middle. I'd really prefer an arm rest that folds up or something instead. I have a 14 AC base model.

Unless you get aftermarket carpet, that hole will be there. All OEM carpet is precut before installation at the factory.

I actually installed that console (the one you have) in my regular cab and love it. Can't imagine why one would want to remove it.

If the hole in the carpet doesn't bother you or you get aftermarket carpet, the regular cab console will work in your access cab. It is a much smaller console, mostly tucked up against the dash.

    Looks like this:

you have a manual tranny? The hand brake cables are under there. I cant remember what else, but if you want to get rid of the console, the top of the transmission actually gets a little bit noisy. I drove around without the whole assembly for a while. You would definitely need to build some type of cover.

The hand brake cables can be easily covered up. The real problem area is up front near the console for the SRS wiring.
