Good morning. Figured the thread could use a decent sunset pic. View from the cottage deck in Michigan overlooking Saginaw Bay.

    BEAUTIFUL!

Sadly 1 person has died in our closest fire and 3 firefighters injured. The winds are blowing away from us, so looking good.
Our fire season is blowing up. The state had shipped a number of firefighters away to help others since we had no fires. Suddenly we have several that lit up across the state. Crazy year!
Another week of high 90s to low 100s, then hopefully into monsoon season.
Have a special day and stay safe out there!

It's always sad to hear when people fighting those forest fires end up losing their lives.

My wife and I have concluded the Tacomas and other vehicles have matured with their buyers. Our few weeks old Tacoma has grown in size and features if considering smaller pickups and the 4Runner we had 1980s-1990s. Her modern German AWD wagon with manual transmission has grown similarly if compared to the VW Thing and Golfs she grew up with.

As for age, we seem young both mentally and physically against our cohort and a lot of associates decades younger. Just yesterday my assistant 20+ years younger could not keep up with me in important ways. My wife's still sailboarding and running. It is tempted for age, but I'm still hitting expert stuff when on a mountain bike or skis.

Last night we took my mother out for her 93rd birthday for an illustration of how to live and age. She's been pedal to the floor, adventurous, open minded and forcing optimism forever. Her choice of venue was open mic night on the major college campus here. We're all so lucky to be aging with such an amazing example.

Hornets are very aggressive if you're near or around the their nest . I've got Red wasps and bald faced hornets here in Tennessee . These are very aggressive and will chase you a good distance

Does Susan or someone 70 or more need to start a 70+ thread or does the
Luckily about the only time I see bald faced hornets is after a heavy rain or strong wind, knocking their nest out of a tree in the woods.
Poured some kerosene down the holes this morning then after a bit, set a sprinkler over the area, then dug into the ground with a shovel to allow water to get deeper.

AARP. Bunch of money hungry processes? I only have a subscription to them because I get a discount on medical insurance. Started back when in August after I had retired over eight years ago. I got a renewal notice back last winter, maybe four to five months out. I’ve been paying a few weeks to a month before my subscription runs out and have been paying online. Just got another notice in the mail three days ago, at least the second or third notice. They could save some money if they would get their act together. You think I don’t care for them?

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I went with AMAC, didn't like the political groups AARP supports. Maybe an option?

Duane, this may have changed, or you may have something different.
I have United Healthcare through AARP, and I had to be a member of AARP when I signed up for it, 30% discount with a 3% increase in premiums for 10yrs. then back to full price. I only had to belong to AARP when I got it and haven't sent them a penny since.

Didn’t know. Will have to check into above references. Thank you. I have UHC, my late mom had it and when she had her stroke, they paid it all except hospice care at a private care facility. Plus when I had my head injury, they paid off most of what Medicare didn’t. Those bills were over 200 grand.
