Drop hitch for a 2017 Tacoma

Hey Folks,
I'm in the process buying a smaller 12-15ft travel trailer (think vintage trailer). I have a 2017 Tacoma and it has a 2inch lift so I think I should get an adjustable drop hitch so it's a balanced tow. Does anyone have any suggestions of drop hitches that they've had good luck with?

I'm using a HF one.

 

I grabbed a random 3 inch drop from menards, been running it for like 3 years without issue.

 

Do you already have a hitch installed? If yes you can get a drop receiver for it.

 

I use a rhinohitch

I like it because I can adjust the height with the trailer still attached.

 

i'm using one i found in the road. it doesn't even have a brand name. works fine.

 

You got a better deal than I did - mine was 8 bucks at a yard sale...

Like most stuff sold at COSTCO it's pretty good quality. COSTCO has a reputation to protect so they generally do their due-diligence on stuff like weight ratings, quality of manufacture, etc. so they don't end up on the news under a headline like "Family dies when COSTCO trailer hitch breaks into pieces on the highway."

 

i think that's a little crazy for the reality of the situation. i would suggest you take out a tape measure and get eye's on what a 2" lift really is.

 

I have about 2.5" lift. There are some trailers, like little 4x8' harbor-freight foldables, with small tires & a low tongue, so having the extra flexibility can be nice. Covers all possible scenarios.

 

$60, Craigslist. Quirky but effective adjustment system. Works great.
Still hurts when you whack your shins on it though.

 

Little harbor freight trailer is the only thing I need my drop for. My normal boat I just use a normal hitch.
