Hey guys, I’ve never been too into trucks/ off-road but I’ve had this 05 4x4 factory trd supercharged Tacoma access cab (140,000 miles) since highschool and was thinking of upgrading to a new truck this year. I did some looking around and couldent find anything like mine for sale online. Curious what you guys think it’s worth? I’ve taken it to 3 dealers while looking at new trucks and they have never seen a trd supercharged Tacoma. Maybe I should keep it around if I got something special?
    Thanks!

Well they aren’t making them anymore

It didn’t come from the factory supercharged, fyi

Dealer or port added, but I don’t think the port did those at all

I'd say a 2005 pickup with only 140K is pretty special, even without a supercharger. My 2011 only has 137K and I thought that was low miles. Where do you live, the market varies with location but these trucks are holding their values very well.
1-Body looks in great shape, any rust?
    2-Is it manual or automatic?
3-Is the supercharger factory installed or done later?
    4-Any mechanical issues?
5-Is the interior in good shape?
6-Why do you want to sell it?

A new truck will cost twice what you'll get in a trade and not be as good a vehicle, unless you're looking for a lot of high-tech doodads that aren't worth what they cost. You're going from what I consider a better engine than the new, smaller displacement (if you stay with a Tacoma), and the other brand mid-size trucks aren't as good as the Taco, IMO. The only reason I could see to get a different truck is the access cab, do you need a full back seat?

I've gotten regular offers from my local dealer to buy my truck or get a "great deal" on trading for a newer one. The prices they suggest are in the low $20K range and I paid $24K for it in 2017 with 60K miles on it Mine is a SR5 4x4 DCSB with 5 spd automatic. They are good offers, but I like it and couldn't replace it with anything better for less than twice the price. Consider that when you get offers, do you want to make payments on something that's really no better than what you have already? I'm betting you're a lot younger than me (I'm 70) and I understand the appeal of getting something "new", but if what you have works and its paid for.....

Only thing I'd consider trading my Tacoma for is what is in my avatar. I bought that new in 1976 and wish I still had it.

yeah I like that logic, the main reason for an upgrade would be yes the new tech but also a back seat and better gas mileage. It’s got sun damage on the top of the cab and a little rust on the frame but nothing terrible. It’s an automatic with a trd charger put in as an added option from factory. No other mechanical issues, it’s been such a great truck. I was surprised to not find a single truck like mine online is all and was not sure if it was rare or not. Still not sure if I wanna sell it or keep it. I appreciate the reply! Edit: I live in Minnesota also

Miles are just a number if you take care of your vehicle.

Is it 4wd? (I'd assume so in Minnesota).

If so, and you're still happy with the access cab space, then I'd say keep it. As a former 2nd gen access cab owner (not as old, but as many miles), I'd say it's probably worth more to you as the current owner than the amount of money you'd get for it, especially on trade.

Welcome :hattip:you've got a real gem  Maintain it and it'll last forever. I'm right at 367,800 miles on my SR5, I haven't flushed my radiator in over 11 years and on the hottest days here in NC I still have to lower the A/C temp. Keep it, take care of it, drive it. Besides a large payment what will a new truck provide that you don't have now?

Where was your avatar pic taken? I've got an idea, just wanted to see if I was right or not.

Linville River at the exit from Linville Gorge, as far up the river as you can get a vehicle. That picture was made in 1977, from the back of a 1944 Willys MB. He was deeper than I was.
