I’m brand new to the forum. I’ve driven a Chevy Silverado Z71 since 1999. I have had two and my latest one is a 2011 with 208,000 miles and I have put thousands of dollars in it, including a new transmission. After spending 2,000 last week on it, I decided I needed a new truck. I have a buddy who is a lifelong Toyota driver and swears by them so I decided to give a Tacoma a try. I have always liked the looks of them.
I found a 2021 TRD Offroad 4wd with a 6’ bed for 39,750. It was an Army Green color, which I love. I drove 150 miles one way to get it today. It is in excellent condition and I think that I should be happy with it. I hope that I can put lots of miles on it. I’m not one to trade trucks often. I’ll keep this truck for a very long time, as I have all of my vehicles.
I test drove a 2024 SR5 but I like this 2021 TRD much better than the new model. It has a V6 engine and I like the inside better. It actually seems a little bigger. I certainly like the outside looks of the 2021 compared to the 2024 model. I did alot of research and I think I got it for a decent price. There were actually two other people wanting to see this truck while I was in the process of buying it. It’s a great looking truck and I’m sure that I will be happy with it.

    Awesome, welcome!
Do regular maintenance and it’ll serve you well for a long time. If you’re in the rust belt, maybe consider getting it sprayed yearly,,, but avoid the permanent rubberized undercoating.

I went from a 2018 Ram 2500 with 6.7 Cummins to a 21 TRD OR with 6 foot bed. It takes a bit of time to get used to the Tacoma transmission but after 6 months of ownership I'm happy

Congrats! These things will definitely last you a long time. I think one member here just hit 400,000 miles on his.

LED interior, license plate, and fog lights. More to come.
Congrats! I went from a full size to a 2022 Tacoma a couple of years ago. I still miss the power of the V8 but otherwise it's much nicer to drive this truck and easier to find parking too.

South Texas, Proud 95.5 Tacoma owner! Just under 300k, 3rd owner here. The Yotas just keep going and going while being a work horse. Converted mine from a daily work beast into an AutoX beast. You’ll be super stoked with your purchase. I grew up being a GM dude “when GM was built to last” not anymore. I’ve still got my old school Buick but like I said “old school”. Only thing new id buy or relatively new are yota’s. My lady has had her 2013 Camry since 2014. Only basic maintenance has been done and is super reliable. You take care of them, they’ll take care of you. Killer purchase. Enjoy that Taco Life. You’ve come to the right side

2021 Access Cab?..... I love mine - soon to become classics keep it clean .!!!

Resist the desire to do all manner of mods to it - keep it stock and run it stock for a year or two before you do anything.

Lifting can cause all manner of issues if not done 1000% and anything electrical is very dicey.
I'd stay away from tuning it as well for a year or two people swear by this or that tune but I'm happy with the way mine drives.

Just run it steady as she goes.

    Like they say in Australia:
If you wanna go to the Outback take a LandRover
If you wanna get back take a Toyota

The key to future financial security is to NEVER EVER mod the truck. The clowns in here will talk you into to ...
