So far no information yet, she was most likely on her cell phone or distracted as her SUV hit me at a high rate of speed as if she didn't even attempt to slow down at all. She was not injured at all I was told and was able to leave the scene without needing medication attention. I was rushed off to the hospital because of being unconscious upon arrival. But It's really a miracle I am up and walking around at all. Also just to clarify , I wasn't spun into a semi head on. My truck was spun into the back of a semi truck that was stationary on the side of the road.

My God what a mess. I cannot believe you actually survived and with relatively little injury. Glad you are okay.

    This and that
Gotta say it, you’re lucky, and glad your are ok. looks and sounds like you spun around more than once.

Someone I know hit a Tacoma the other day, in town, and put it on its side, she didn’t even know it, just drove into it.

You are more lucky than "you know who". I can't say the name because of the role on TW.

Someone I knew 25 years ago who owned a truck told a tale of being forced into the middle-wide-sloped-grass of an interstate (steering, another-idiot ... I cannot recall). She said the speed and slope causes significant chassis stress and that the truck chassis survived when she was certain a passenger vehicle chassis would have buckled, probably causing injury instead of just some fear.

Wow, your account of limited injury is miraculous given those horrible pictures. Wishing a speedy recovery, mate.

After something like this, I'm not sure that I would get behind the wheel anytime soon. The older I get, the more wary I am of other drivers on the road. It may be my age, but more likely because other drivers are more distracted and less aware, perhaps Impaired, and seemingly comfortable with their driving skills in that state. Coupled with the increasing tendency for rage at real or imagined slights, we've all become targets for events not completely in our control.

Unfortunately at 46 years old I'll still need to commute daily to work for at least awhile longer , but I can tell you this. I've been riding motorcycles on the street for 30 years (had motorcycle permit at age 15.5) and the roads in California have become so dangerous from distracted or under the influence drivers that after this accident I have decided to no longer commute on my motorcycle. I will only ride on the occasional day off for recreation, staying away from busy highways or the city. Be safe out there and never take anything for granted.

Years ago I used to do photography for a local law office. I was always amazed when someone was really badly injured in a minor fender bender and another person walked away essentially unharmed in an accident that left the car in multiple large pieces.

You definitely used up one of your 9 lives!

    Glad you’re safe!

Can almost guarantee that she was on her phone. Probably walked away like it’s nothing. People like that don’t belong on the road. Glad you’re walking around. Count the blessings and live life to the fullest!
