Hi, my wife and I are looking at small travel trailers in anticipation for next spring/summer. Doing some research, and we found a pre-owned Micro Minnie 1706FB at a good price locally. I like the simple layout, no slide out, and tandem axle for towing stability.

Anyone had one of these, and are they fairly well built and reliable? Tow good? Other competitors that are equivalent we should be looking at?

Not getting a tandem is probably the only regret I have with our Gulf Stream Vista Cruiser 195RBS. We too wanted to keep it simple with no slide out. The tandem will tow better and give you more flexibility when it comes to weight. The Micro Minnie 170FB looks like a nice little camper. We have had ours nearly 2 years, have gone on 13 adventures and have really enjoyed it. IMO, you have to embrace the set up and take down process. I enjoy the challenge that each new set up brings. Go ahead and plan on getting a decent weight distribution hitch. The Anderson has a great rep. I bought a Camco ReCurve R-3 used for ~$200 and it has done very well. Also, your truck being a longer wheelbase than mine will tow even a little bit better. ;) There is a guy on here that has towed a heavier camper all over the country with a 3rd gen Taco. His thread should be a sticky.

Let us know what you end up doing. Sorry I don't have any direct experience with the Micro Minnie.

Here's my thread that may have some useful info for you.
