Favorite Whiskey?

I snagged one of these bottles last year, just one, and gave it as a gift to my BIL because I knew how much he’d love it. I’m hoping to stumble across another this year.

Have a chance to trade for a 13th hazmat rye. Any of my rye people have any input?

I have not had the rye but I did have the cask strength bourbon, it is good juice but I believe that they are riding the coat tails of the double oak popularity. So it kind of depends on the ask I suppose. I don’t think it would be worth much over retail to me personally.

 

I'll state this. I have not been a fan of anything 13th including the DO. For some reason I keep hearing phenomenal things about the rye. Plus I'm on a huge rye kick so that doesn't help the temptation

Still one of my favorites. This is a Bevy’s store pick. A bit hotter than the other bottles I’ve picked up, a bit more peppery on the finish, but full of great oak and cinnamon flavors. Love this offering, I will always have a backup on the shelf.
Locally made chicaronnes, maybe not the best pairing, lol.

 

Read a lot about this Ry3 cigar blend offering. I wanted to match it up against the Magnus cigar blend. It’s milder up front, strong rye mid palate, some raisin, dark dried fruit, and a mix of black pepper and currant on the finish.

if you are a rye person, and like the old leather and tobacco notes a cigar blend brings, you will like either of them. For me Magnus wins out, and honestly the Magnus Murray Hill Club is even better for the $$.

 

Definitely a scotch night. The incompetence here today was epic. First of at least three.

This is the only bottle of scotch I own. I’ve had it for 3-4yrs??? Not my favorite but it’s ok. I’m just not a scotch drinker but I do like to bust out the outlet and announce I’m having a scotch when a few of my friends are over

 

Blood Oath is a really cool concept. I have a pact no. 8 I've been working on for a while.

Scotch has a lot to offer people who want to branch out. That said, if you're happy where you are I wouldn't force it.

 

Had a few pours of Macallan 30 year at a wedding. It was delightful.
