2006 TRD OR 4WD Issues

Good afternoon all,

My 06 TRD OR will go into 4wd if I 1) Turn vehicle off 2) Move switch to 4wd 3) Start Truck back up... It will not engage when the truck is on but WILL disengage when the truck is on. Only thing being is that I get the cursed 4wd blinking light of death on my dash. It wont go away regardless of what I do.

I took apart the rear actuator and the connection plate looked a bit corroded but the fact that it will engage is throwing me off. Front actuator is new and seems to be in perfect working condition.

I can hear the 4wd ECU clicking and engaging when I put the truck in 4wd following the steps above - as well as hear it disengage.

Should I just replace the rear actuator? They're on Amazon and other sites for ~$100 and seems a fairly straight forward replacement (

Forgot to note that it is the 4.0 6 speed manual.

 

Check your limit switch voltages as outlined in the thread below and post your results so we can see what we're dealing with.

Do you have pictures of the actuator contacts?
