Hey y'all I'm heading up to red feather in about 2 weeks for a camping trip and was wondering if anyone else is going to be up there?

Is this a round about way of inviting people to camp with you?

Shit I found on CL or EBAY that I could screw on.
20230715_191430.jpg 20230715_143031.jpg I went up there last year in mid-july, for the same thing. I can just give you my thoughts about it.
I could not find dispersed camping in the RFL area. It was all rental cabins and camp grounds. It was very crowded. I only had my truck, tent, and my dog.
From RFL I headed west to Deadman lookout in to Roosevelt forest. It was pretty, but again, no real dispersed camping and it was crowded on the main roads. there were lots of slash piles everywhere, which means bugs. It was bad.
I went a little more west from Deadman and then veered north. up by CR80. Thats where I camped and had a better time. It's a little farther away but worth it.
Edit: You can hit CR80 off 287 and bypass RFL if you wanted to.

    Dog, camper.
The dispersed camping scene on RFL/Deadman has really changed. There has been much clearing of dead trees and a general run thru everywhere with a grader making the roads passable to a Prius. Due to the population here, it's an RV park almost everywhere you go.
You really gotta get up in there on the unmarked side roads to find any real privacy, usually at the expense of any kind of view or water.
Deadman is currently closed, upper and lower. It might be open in two weeks if the road dries out.
I'd personally hit Laramie River Road, there are some decent areas to camp besides the campgrounds.
Plus it's cold up there right now, won't be too many people.

Hey guys, looking to do some camping in the Leadville (after the Leadville 100, so I'm aware of that) area, I was thinking in between Twin Lakes and Turquoise Lake, anyone have opinions about that area? Capture.jpg

some spots just west of clear creek res just south of twin lakes. kind of like a dirt parking lot but theres a creek just south of the lot where the colorado trail goes.

there were some dispersed spots by lakeview campground just north of twin lakes last time i was there in like 2021.
