Can someone explain what the preferred wheel size is? My '14 TRD Sport had 18" wheels and my current '18 TRD Sport has 17" wheels, but I hear a lot of y'all run 16" wheels. Is one better or more preferred? Are different sizes better for different uses?

Smaller wheels will give you more sidewall, typically less weight. Better offroad as well. 17's will probably offer the most tire options though. But that's not to say there aren't good 16" tire options. Just less. 18's... Not sure why anyone would want them unless they specifically like the bigger wheel look.
