I'm back home, and this trip was fantastic. We had to change our plans a few times due to fires in Canada, and in Alaska (Denali NP), but in the end, we did everything I set out to do except head up to Tombstone TP on the Dempster. Total miles driven was somewhere around 10,500 miles. I never needed to change a tire, I had the tires low on the dirt roads, and kept my speed down off pavement. The Dalton was a muddy mess and a portion had washed out the day before we got there, so there was a temporary re-routing on part of it. It took me about $45 at the car wash, and about and 45+minutes to get the *majority* of the mud off once I got back to Fairbanks (IH8MUD).

I never had an encounter with a bear, the mosquitos, although bad, were not as bad as I expected them to be. I think I got bit like 1-2 times and I only used spray 1 time. My windshield was taken out on the highway in Canada due to a gravel truck coming the opposite way. It was rough, but it made it all the way home, and has already been replaced. I'm still processing all the pics and will occasionally be posting them up on my Instagram account. In a few years, I plan on making up another trip to do the Dempster.

Thanks again for all the advice.

Glad you and the truck survived the epic journey. And that's usually how it plays out; had you not planned for the worst, the worst would have happened!

Luckily, there are bathrooms all over the place, either at roadside rest stops, or campgrounds/gas stations. I never had to break out the nobriefs-case.

Oh, and I will tell you, the best gear of the trip I had was this:

I also had a different one that I bought at Costco for my son. They literally saved our asses on this trip.
