    White Oaks, NM. Once a thriving gold and coal mining city. And in the 1880’s was second only to Santa Fe in population. Complete with several saloons and an opera house. Today, one business remains open. The “No Scum Allowed” saloon. They let me in so the name may be misleading. The town died of greed. Trying to gouge the railroad ridiculously high prices for land rights. They just said “fuck y’all” and went 12 miles north with their rails…
