It appears the track that the window attaches to, has been bent. Probably from that door-opening-support-bar that attached to the truck frame?
Is this something I can fix myself, by carefully hammering the frame back to normal? Or is this something my mechanic should handle?
In the photo where you see the window, I don't see any sort of clip attaching the window edge to the metal track frame. Should there be one?

The window is out of the track, the glass should be between the felt guides.

Doesn't look like it's bent too bad, just be careful trying to straighten it so you don't break the window

Question is, how did that get bent? It's not a particularly easy place to damage.........

My hunch would be the door check broke or came loose and hit the window track when the door was closed.

The same shit everyone else has.
Just dealt with this like a month ago.

The door check bends and catches on the window track.

    Super easy to DIY.

2 10mm nuts to swap it out

Yes this is what I think happened. It lines up with the dent. I'm not sure why the door check did this. There was a day when the door was difficult to open and close and it made a clunk noise. Then it was fine to open and close. Shortly after I discovered the window not working properly. I don't recall the door being blown open violently by the wind.

Thanks for this. I am planning to order the part. Since it was the door check that likely damaged the window track, should I order a new door check too, in case it is bent too? I looked at it, and I couldn't see that it was bent, but maybe I am missing something when I look at it.

Also, when I was putting the door panel back on, it didn't go back on as perfectly as it was before. I noticed one of those plastic-plug-anchors (they kind of look like drywall anchors) wasn't snapping into the hole tightly enough. Also, I think one of the same types of anchors snapped off from the door panel. Is there a recommended way to fix those?

    Replace the clips.

The check itself doesn’t bend, the sheet metal on the door where it bolts to does.

If you look at the check where it was rubbing the window guide, there’s a little hook looking thing. This is what catches on the window guide. I just took a cutoff wheel to the little hook and made its “catchy”.

I removed the bent track from the door. I attempted to unbend it using a hammer and some pliers. When I went to screw it back into place, the bolts wouldn't line up with the holes in the door. One bend in one dimensions affects the bend in another dimension. I think I am better off just trying to get a new part, or a scrap yard part.

I noticed the little hook on the check. So, the sheet metal on the door bends, which affects where the check and hook thing line up. Which then jams into the window track. I guess I am concerned I won't know how much to remove from the hook. Maybe a stupid question, but what is a cutoff wheel? Is it a grinder attacked to a motor?
